Benjamin Morse ’15, Carter Speers ’17 and Matthew Gladstone ’18 were among the members of the Boston Red Sox organization to receive championship rings during the team’s 2019 home opener.
Prior to the first pitch of the team’s April 9 home opener, the Boston Red Sox unveiled their 2018 World Series Champion banner and members of the MLB organization received their championship rings on the field.
Among the Red Sox employees who received rings were Benjamin Morse ’15, account executive for premium sales, Carter Speers ’17, special assistant to the president and CEO of the Red Sox Foundation, and Matthew Gladstone ’18, inside sales representative.
A sport management major, Gladstone is less than a year removed from receiving his Elon undergraduate degree. In fact, he began 2018 as a promotions intern for the Burlington Royals minor league organization.
At Elon, Morse majored in international and global studies and Speers studied history and political science.
According to the Boston Herald, the interior of each ring includes the date the team clinched the title – “10-28-18” — as well as the words “Damage Done,” evolved from the “Do Damage” rallying cry the Red Sox used in the playoffs.
