The NC Department of Public Instruction website has a great deal of information that can be helpful to you as you look for teaching positions in the state.
The employment section of the website, Work 4 NC Schools, has a link to the state-wide North Carolina Schools Job Board which also includes an interactive state map you can use to target specific teaching and other educational employment opportunities within the state. (Please note that some school systems, both regular or charter schools do not use this website to post vacancies – this link, https://files.dpi.state.nc.us/NonPA/, will take you to the list of non-participating school districts and links to their websites.)
Additional resources that can be helpful to you include:
LEA (school system) information is in EDDIE. This information includes URLs, staff contacts and other details about a school district and its schools. Use links under the Reports Menu to obtain contact information for all LEAs, or use the Search or Selection boxes to focus on an individual LEA or school.
Charter school information is also in EDDIE, and on the Office of Charter Schools website including an NC map of charter schools.
Listing of all NC LEAs (school systems) including Public Charter Schools, Regional School, & other Educational Entities (pdf, 39kb)
The North Carolina Education Directory(http://www.ncpublicschools.org/nceddirectory/) is developed by the Department of Public Instruction’s Communication and Information Services division as a service to educators and others interested in public education. It provides a great deal of information about education in the state and includes an easy-to-use list of public school districts by county with links to each county’s website.
Information on NC teacher licensure requirements can be obtained at http://www.ncpublicschools.org/licensure/.
Private Schools in NC – If you are interested in teaching in private schools, you can see this link for a directory of private schools in the state – https://ncadmin.nc.gov/citizens/private-school/nc-directory-private-schools.
