Ten Martha and Spencer Love School of Business students were initiated into the accounting and finance organization.
Elon University’s Lambda Xi chapter of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP), the international organization for financial information students and professionals, inducted 10 new members on Sept. 3 during a ceremony held in LaRose Digital Theater.
To be eligible for membership, students must maintain a 3.0 GPA overall with a 3.0 GPA minimum in upper-level accounting and finance classes. Inductees have also met the requirements for both service and attendance at professional meetings. Additionally, the chapter requires six hours of service within BAP and two hours of service outside of BAP per semester.
BAP provides the opportunity for members to expand their professional networks, increase their knowledge about financial information professions and employers and serve the local community. The chapter holds weekly meetings where guest speakers are invited to engage with students and answer questions about their industry or firm. Guest speakers in the past have included: PwC, KPMG, EY, Deloitte, Lincoln Financial, RSM and Grant Thornton.
On Sept. 9, BAP is partnering with the Student Professional Development Center to host their annual Accounting Meet and Greet. This event brings in top local, national and global firms to recruit Elon talent for jobs and internships.
