Beginning Monday, Sept. 16, the road will be restricted to one lane during the day until work finishes in early October.
Work on a water main under East Lebanon Avenue that begins next week means that the roadway will be restricted to the south lane during the day until the work is completed in October.
Crews will be installing new piping under the street and connect to the existing water main piping behind Long Building and the new LaRose Student Commons. The general contractor will begin mobilizing on Monday, Sept. 16, and the lane restriction is expected to begin on Wednesday, Sept. 18. The work is being performed to increase water pressure throughout the Historic Neighborhood.
Flaggers will direct traffic through the area during the day and steel plates will be installed each night to allow both lanes to be open for use. The sidewalk between Long Building and LaRose Student Commons will be closed during the work and four parking spaces, as indicated in the above graphic, will need to be blocked for staging.
The work should be completed by Oct. 18.
