Jessie Moore, director of the Center for Engaged Learning and professor of English, was one of two honorees to receive the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning's Distinguished Service Award.

The annual festival by the Elon University Garden Studio Class will be held Friday, Oct. 25, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Elon Community Garden.

The award came from the N.C. National Alliance for Mental Illness and is given to a person under the age of 25 who has made a significant impact on young people with mental illness in the community.

The series was developed by Assistant Professor Jennifer Carroll in connection with her "Citizenship in Crisis" course.

Elon University Department of Art's biennial faculty exhibition is on display through Dec. 6 at Gallery 406 at Arts West on West Haggard Avenue. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
