The annual festival by the Elon University Garden Studio Class will be held Friday, Oct. 25, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Elon Community Garden.
Students in Elon University’s fall semester Garden Studio class in collaboration with the Community Garden Club will host the 11th annual Fall Pumpkin Festival on Friday, Oct. 25.
Each year students in the class taught by Lecturer Michael Strickland in the Department of Environmental Studies plan the event to bring together the Elon community through a celebration of autumn, harvest and gardening. The event is home to fun fall-themed games, food and festivities, and in past years has drawn hundreds.
The festival will take place at the Elon Community Garden, located at 410 E. College Avenue next to the Sklut Hillel Center. This year’s event takes place from 2:30 to 5:30 pm and will feature face painting, crafts, photo booths and more. Attendees will find delicious fall-themed treats like pumpkin pastries, hot chocolate and cider, and even the Elon-famous vegan Brunswick stew.
The Fall Pumpkin Festival is made possible by support from East Neighborhood, Hillel House, Student Government Association, Office of Sustainability, Environmental Studies Department, Kappa Alpha Omicron, Sierra Club and friends in the Powell House.
