Meyers, who obtained her law degree from the University of Miami School of Law after graduating from Elon, is the senior vice president for distribution for cable and satellite television network Starz.
Stefanie Meyers ’09, a top executive with the cable and satellite television network Starz, has been named one of the “New Leaders in TV” by top industry publication Variety.
As senior vice president for distribution, Meyers negotiates and executes distribution and device deals for Starz and oversees its digital distribution partner marketing. As Variety explains, “her job is to make sure Starz is available and easily accessible on as many platforms as possible.”
Meyers, who lives in New York, majored in communications and political science while at Elon while also serving as captain of the volleyball team. After graduating, she went on to obtain her law degree from the University of Miami School of Law. She joined Starz as senior counsel in 2015 after serving as associate counsel in programming at Time Warner Cable.
Meyers told Variety, “I love watching TV. I’m a cord-cutter and I’m a millennial. So, in my role, I’m sort of solving my own problems as a user.”
Meyers was one of eight named to the list by Variety, which says it seeks to identify the next generation of leaders in the entertainment business each year.
