Sustainable holiday wrapping kits available at Festival of Holiday Lights

Pick up your FREE Sustainable Holiday Wrapping Kit at the Festival of Holiday Lights on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

Sustainable Holiday Wrapping Kits encourage us to be mindful of our waste this holiday season and they’re back at Elon by popular demand. Every December, more than 4 million pounds of wrapping paper is sent to landfills.

Sustainable Holiday Wrapping Kits help alleviate this problem. These kits created by Eco-Reps include old issues of The Pendulum, newspaper bows, fabric, and cardboard tags. The newspapers were donated by Elon News Network and the cardboard tags were created on the Maker Hub- Downtown’s laser engraver using leftover cardboard scraps. Visiting Fulbright Scholar Catherine Bovill also joined in on the fun, creating colorful tags made from card stock and fabric scraps.

Free wrapping kits will be available at the Festival of Holiday Lights on Dec. 3.  Be sure to pick up yours before they disappear!
