Elon joins more than 600 institutions nationwide to be recognized for their commitment and dedication to veterans, their spouses and the military community.
Elon University has been designated as a 2020-2021 Military Friendly School for its dedication to the military community, veterans advocacy program Military Friendly announced on Tuesday.
In its 19th year, the Military Friendly Schools list aims to set a standard for higher education institutions to provide the best educational opportunities for veterans, their spouses and the military community.
Military Friendly compiles its list each year based on data from federal agencies, veteran students and a proprietary survey completed by each participating institution. More than 1,000 schools completed the most recent survey.
The designated schools were selected based on each institution’s survey scores and an assessment of each school’s ability to meet specific criteria in the areas of student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.
The entire 2020-2021 Military Friendly Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and on militaryfriendly.com.
