New Student & Transition Programs seeks the next cohort of Orientation Leaders to welcome the newest students to Elon in August!
Orientation Leaders are the heart of the New Student Orientation experience. These upper-class student leaders volunteer their time to help welcome and ease the transition of all our new students to Elon.
Some will serve as Orientation Leaders to transfer students, other with international students, with the majority serving as peer mentors to our newest first-year students!
This leadership experience is open to all undergraduate students with a passion for Elon and a willingness to share their love for Elon with the newest members of our community. Through a robust training program, Orientation Leaders will dig into their own identity; learn more about diversity, equity, and inclusion; develop facilitation skills and facilitation across difference; they will learn about all the great resources Elon offers; develop strategies to help support and counsel their peers who may be struggling; and build a skill set that will enable them to intervene and advocate for others. Orientation Leaders at Elon help the entire institution build a community that cares!
Being an Orientation Leader opens doors for students as they seek out pathways for involvement and ways to deepen their leadership skills. All interested students should apply on PhoenixCONNECT, now through March 1. Questions can be sent to nstp@elon.edu.
