Forbes article includes insights from Lisa Keegan on college admissions during COVID-19

The April 1 article offers tips on navigating a college search during a global pandemic.

A recent article in Forbes offering tips for navigating the college search process during the COVID-19 outbreak includes insights from Lisa Keegan, assistant vice president and dean of undergraduate admissions.

Titled “Virtually Possible: Locking Down The College Search In a Global Pandemic,” the article by contributor Brennan Barnard offers thoughts on keeping the right mindset, laying the proper groundwork and tips on ways to “visit” schools remotely.

Elon recently launched its “Life As A Phoenix” website that offers a wide variety of ways for admitted students to interact with the university even though campus visits are not occurring because of the outbreak.

Keegan advises that “this is a perfect time to begin following social media posts by schools you are considering. … You can tell a lot about the values of an institution by paying attention to what kind of messages they are sharing right now. Are they showcasing innovative virtual-teaching by faculty? Are they finding ways to celebrate the campus community.”
