A recent article in the New Republic examining U.S. foreign policy moves in the Balkan region includes analysis by Jasmin Mujanović, assistant professor of political science.
The article by reporter Casey Michel titled “Could Trump spark a new Balkan ethnic war?” looks at activity by administration officials in the former Yugoslavia and its implications. Members of the Trump administration recently met with leaders from Serbia, which is engaged in a trade war with neighboring Kosovo, which has drawn the attention of the U.S.
“From the Balkan end of things, there were a number of political actors in the region who were really excited by Trump’s election—maybe no one more than Belgrade and its proxies,” Mujanović told The New Republic.
