The eight dancers in Renay Aumiller and Casey Avaunt's Dance Senior Seminar course will premiere their final projects online this weekend.
Each of the graduating seniors in Elon’s Dance Performance and Choreography program has been hard at work independently since March, re-imaging the large group concert they would have presented at Elon in April.
Working away from campus during this period of remote learning, these eight dancers have completely shifted the focus of their Dance Senior Seminar course. Choreographing and dancing in the spaces available to them — dark streets at night, hallways in their family’s home and empty beaches — each student produced a solo dance film.
The students and their professors, Assistant Professor of Dance Renay Aumiller and Assistant Professor of Dance Casey Avaunt, will present the collection of films this weekend. Entitled “All Things Must Pass,” the show will be available on the Elon dance program’s YouTube channel from Friday through Sunday.
