Lecturer in English Margaret Chapman discussed the difficulties students and faculty faced as institutions nationwide shifted to online learning as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Physical distancing and virtual celebrations gave space for more intimate moments of reflection between faculty and seniors in the Class of 2020

During its annual awards ceremony, premiered live on social media and streaming apps on May 14, the school recognized high achievement from students, faculty and staff. It also celebrated the tenure of Paul Parsons, founding communications dean, and David Copeland, founding director of the Interactive Media master’s program.

Though driven apart by the global COVID-19 pandemic, members of the Class of 2020 came together online on Friday, May 22, with their friends, families and Elon faculty and staff to celebrate all they have accomplished during the past four years and receive their degrees.

The unpredictable events of this spring that led to an online conferral ceremony opened up the opportunity for a unique performance by 30 members of the Class of 2020.

Steve DeLoach, Martha and Spencer Love Term Professor, professor of economics and chair of the Department of Economics was featured in a recent article about COVID-19 and its impact on the economy.

Professor of Computer Science Megan Squire offered insight for the article focused on white nationalists and a divide in their support for President Trump's reelection campaign.

Caroleen M. Dineen joins the Elon Law faculty from Florida A&M University College of Law, while Amanda Elyse moves to North Carolina from Seattle University School of Law.

During an online ceremony, these six new Elon alumni formalized their participation in service-year programs offered by Elon in partnership with local organizations. Six fellows who have completed their year of service were also recognized.

Three Air Force cadets and three Army cadets completed Elon’s ROTC program and will enter military service.
