Michael DeStefano, partner in EY’s Financial Services Office, will share business insights and career advice with students.
Michael DeStefano, partner in EY’s Financial Services Office, joins the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business this fall as an executive-in-residence.
DeStefano will advise business students about careers in the financial services industry and share insights from his 30 years of professional experience, primarily working with banks, investment managers and hedge funds.
As a Client Serving Partner, DeStefano led teams serving several of EY’s largest clients, including UBS, Bank of NY, BlackRock, Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs. He is responsible for maintaining key relations and ensuring the service quality delivery of multiple projects across these various organizations.

DeStefano is also EY’s Global Alumni Leader. In this role, he oversees the firm’s global program to connect and engage with EY’s 1,000,000 alumni.
Additionally, DeStefano is the founder of Comics Care, a nonprofit organization using comedy performances to raise money for other 501-(c)(3) organizations. Since its founding in 2007, it has raised more than $500,000 for nonprofit organizations.
DeStefano currently serves on the Love School of Business Board of Advisors and is the Lead Partner Sponsor for all EY recruiting at Elon University.
He graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton with a degree in accounting and holds a CPA license in New York.
Also serving as an executive-in-residence is former VF Corporation vice president Michael Gannaway. Since 2015, Gannaway has advised students on career options, discussed the job market, and shared lessons learned during his career, which included senior level positions at VF Corporation, Pillowtex Corporation, Sara Lee’s Branded Apparel division, Revlon, Inc., and Estee Lauder, Inc.
