Students can learn how to connect with the more than 240 student organizations at Elon during the virtual event, which will be held on PhoenixConnect on Friday, Aug. 21, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Elon students are invited to explore the wide array of opportunities for involvement on campus on Friday during the fall Student Organization Fair, which this year will be held virtually.
Typically spread out across Young Commons, Elon’s student organizations will showcase themselves in Zoom meeting rooms for those students looking for just the right way to get involved. From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., students can visit PhoenixCONNECT, the online home for Elon’s student organizations, to see the variety of groups and connect with members.
By clicking through an online Google Slides deck, students will see information about participating organizations and contact information. On each organization’s slide, they will also find a link to a Zoom meeting room that will allow them to visit with members of the organization, ask questions and find out more information.
In a video outlining the details of the fair, Graduate Apprentice for Student Organizations and Involvement Joe Strid explains that the organizations are divided up into four blocks, with each block available for a 30-minute window. The organizations are grouped by categories, providing students more direction in identifying an organization that may be appealing to them, and helping them connect to organization members.

“We look forward to seeing you on Friday,” Strid says.
