Longmire-Avital named to three editorial boards for peer-reviewed academic journals

Associate professor of psychology and coordinator of the African & African American Studies minor, Buffie Longmire-Avital has accepted invitations to join three editorial boards for prominent academic journals in the fields of psychology and health behavior research.

Associate Professor of Psychology Buffie Longmire-Avital was recently invited and accepted membership to the editorial boards of the Journal of Health Psychology, which has an impact factor of 2.44; the Journal of Sexuality Research and Social Policy, which has an impact factor of 2.405; and the Journal of Health Prevention and Promotion, which just released its inaugural issue.

Longmire-Avital is an applied developmental psychologist with a critical health focus. All three invitations cited her ongoing research, publications, peer reviews, and commitment to identifying and dismantling systems that sustain health disparities.
