Associate Professor Chris Harris answered questions about the stock market for the personal finance website.
Chris Harris, associate professor of finance in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business and chair of the Department of Finance, offered insights about the stock market in an “Ask the Expert” series for personal finance outlet Wallethub.
In “Ask the Experts: What can we learn from hedge funds?” Harris shared his thoughts on how recent developments in the COVID-19 pandemic will impact stock prices in the short and long run, and if the stock market is prone for a correction or growth. He also provided advice for individual investors.
“The stock market has often been thought of as ‘forward-looking,’ but many other economic indicators are not very positive right now,” Harris told Wallethub. “The one big piece that may indicate the stock market could continue to rise is the fact that trillions of dollars (over $6 Trillion) have been created and that currency creation will likely have an impact on prices.”
