Murfin received the honorarium for her participation in virtual meetings, contributions to improving the curriculum, submission of data for federal grant reporting/research, and cooperation in delivering the PRAC-ED-PA SUD curriculum to her students.
Associate Professor Melissa Murfin, research coordinator for Physician Assistant Studies program and director of educational strategies for School of Health Sciences, received a $5,000 honorarium from the Physician Assistant Education Association as part of their PRAC-ED-PA grant project.
Murfin receives this honorarium for her participation in virtual meetings, contributions to improving the curriculum, submission of data for federal grant reporting/research, and cooperation in delivering the PRAC-ED-PA SUD curriculum to her students.
Murfin has opted to use the honorarium to start a research fund for DPAS. She plans to support PA student research by paying conference registration, covering the cost of poster printing and research supplies, and helping with expenses students may encounter as they pursue independent research during the program.
