The concert offered with the support of the School of Communications, Division of Student Life and the Music Production and Recording Arts Department will feature Eliza Spear '22 performing original works with a backing band composed of fellow students.
The Elon community is invited to support The Chaplain’s Fund on Wednesday as they take in a live-streamed concert by Eliza Spear ’22, who will be performing original music with a backing band made up of fellow students.
The concert will begin at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, and will be streamed live on the Elon University Facebook page and will be available via the campus Philo Channel. Students, faculty and staff are also invited to gather in the Great Hall for a watch party, with attendance capped at 40 individuals. No reservations are required. The concert is sponsored by the School of Communications, the Division of Student Life and the Music Production and Recording Arts Department.
Eliza Spear is an alternative Americana artist who has been recognized by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, Taylor Guitars and iHeartRadio for her songwriting and artistry. On campus, she works closely with Limelight Records, the university’s student-led record label, and is majoring in music production and recording arts.
“The work put into this event has been led by students, with both the talent and the crew entirely made up of Elon students,” Spear says.
The Chaplain’s Fund is a resource that provides one-time emergency assistance to Elon faculty, staf and students due to an unforeseen financial crisis. Assistance, based on the availability of resources, is to assist with circumstances such as medical emergency, death of a family member, food insecurity, fire or other natural disaster, to name a few examples. Other situations that are like these will be considered. The Chaplain’s Discretionary Fund excludes expenses related to cable service, mobile telephone service, tuition, domestic and study abroad, Greek life, and other optional services.
