The Department of Performing Arts will present its production of Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” on Friday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m. The performance will be streamed at www.elonperformingarts.com
“Macbeth is one of those plays that really lends itself to interpretation,” said Costume Designer Jack Smith about the production. Andy Edelman, assistant director, said that the production has taken the overall concept of the production to “an overall more fantastical point.”
Director Kim Shively said that she and her brother spent a lot of time making horror movies in their basement, “so I think this was for me about finding that fantasy place, that fantasy world where the story could exist.”
A behind-the-scenes look at the production is available here and a digital program and viewing link are available here.
