Angela Calhoun-Czerniak ’01 will try her luck as a contestant on ‘Wheel of Fortune’

Calhoun-Czerniak will appear on the Friday, Dec. 17 airing of the game show during "Disney Secret Santa" week.

One Elon University alumna will have the chance to win big competing on “America’s Game.”

Angela Calhoun-Czerniak ’01 is set to appear on an episode of “Wheel of Fortune” which airs Friday, Dec. 17 during “Disney Secret Santa” week, where contestants will have the opportunity to win Disney-theme vacations.

“My bucket list item was always to be in a studio audience to see the taping of one of these shows,” she said. “So, it was surreal to meet Pat [Sajak] and Vanna [White] and be able to spin the wheel. It was a cool experience.”

Calhoun-Czerniak is an avid Disney fan and said some of her fondest memories are Disney-related, whether it is childhood family trips to Disney World or marrying her partner, Justin, at Disneyland Resort five years ago.

She has also been a fan of “Wheel of Fortune” since she was a child and has now introduced the show to her two sons. The opportunity to compete on the show during the Disney-theme week was a well-timed mesh of two things she cares deeply about.

“We are huge Disney fans and we like watching ‘Wheel of Fortune’ as well. So, it was a perfect match,” Calhoun-Czerniak said.

After graduating from Elon in 2001, she traveled all over the world including China, Africa and Hawaii, where she taught at a small school for 13 years. She currently lives in Southern California.
