Students participating in Winter Term 2022 Study Abroad and Study USA programs can visit the page to get the latest updates on how the pandemic might be impacting the programs.
The Isabella Cannon Global Education Center (GEC) is closely tracking conditions related to the COVID-19 pandemic as Elon students, faculty and staff prepare to embark on dozens of study abroad and Study USA programs around the globe during Winter Term 2022.
To help students and their families remain up to date about how the pandemic may be impacting these programs, the GEC has added a special web page that details any changes to Winter Term 2022 programs. The page also offers an archive of the regular updates and messages the GEC began sending to participating students and their families on Monday, Dec. 27.
The center is working daily and in close contact with global partner organizations to monitor changing pandemic conditions and track travel advisories and restrictions reported by the U.S. Department of State, the CDC and airlines.
The top priority of the GEC is the health and safety of students, faculty and staff who are taking part in these study and travel experiences. All decisions about the status of each program will begin with considerations to protect the well-being of the participants.
In line with CDC recommendations, the GEC is strongly encouraging everyone traveling to other countries to receive their COVID-19 booster shot as soon as possible.
The majority of Elon Winter Term study away programs are scheduled to depart for their destinations the first week of January. To keep everyone informed with accurate information, the GEC is implementing special communications for students, faculty and staff who will be traveling abroad or in the United States.
Each day, the GEC will provide the latest information and announcements via email to students participating in Winter Term 2022 programs no later than 4 p.m. ET. Each message will then be made available on the new GEC Winter Term travel status page.
