The Black History Month Dance Concert to celebrate various dance forms of the African Diaspora

The concert will have three performances from Thursday, Feb. 24 through Saturday, Feb. 26, with a discussion and in-person showing at Yeager Recital Hall for Thursday night.

The Department of Performing Arts at Elon University is hosting the Black History Month Dance Concert, which will be displayed in Yeager Recital Hall on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Two other virtual showings of the performance on Friday, Feb. 25 and Saturday, Feb. 26 will be streamed online.

The link to the concert will be posted to the Elon Performing Arts website 15 minutes before the showing. The Thursday showing at Yeager Hall will have a pre-show discussion starting at 7 p.m. is also in partnership with the Office of Cultural & Special Programs.

“This year’s concert celebrates various art forms of the African Diaspora,” said Keshia Wall, assistant professor of Elon and director of the show. “You will experience works from our very own faculty and students as well as local artists, Chelsi Yvonne & Take 2, Sean Hunter, and students from The Pointe!, a black-owned dance studio in Greensboro, NC.

“We are so excited to share this evening of music, spoken word, and dance with you,” Wall added.
