Jeff Clark presents on Wordle as an example in information theory

Professor of Mathematics Jeff Clark attended the 100th annual meeting of the Southeastern Section of the Mathematical Association of America, where he presented on "Wordle and Entropy."

Professor of Mathematics Jeff Clark attended the 2022 meeting of the Southeastern Section of the Mathematical Association of America at Berry College, where he presented a talk on “Wordle and Entropy.” He discussed the concept of entropy as the average amount of information expected from a query, using the popular puzzle Wordle as an example.

While at the meeting he watched Applied Mathematics major and Lumen scholar Amy Moore ’22 present a poster on the mathematics of gerrymandering, working under the supervision of Professor Todd Lee.
