Elon's Doctor of Physical Therapy program was represented strongly at the Annual Meeting of the American College of Sports Medicine in San Diego, CA. Brendal Vargo, a second-year DPT student, also won a research award at the Conference.
Elon University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program was well-represented at the American College of Sports Medicine 2022 conference held from May 31 to June 4 in San Diego, California.
The DPT program had 10 presentations including one podium and nine posters out of which eight were student-led presentations and one presentation was led by Elon DPT’s sports-resident. A total of 12 second-year DPT students, one sports-resident and three faculty members represented Elon’s DPT program.
In addition, Brendal Vargo won Research Award from the Biomechanics Interest Group for her presentation evaluating the utility of wearables for gait analysis. Associate Professor of Physical Therapy Education Srikant Vallabhajosula was also elected as a co-chair for the Biomechanics Interest Group for a four-year term.
