Staff, faculty invited to sing in campus choral ensembles

The Elon Chorale and Camerata are both open to staff and faculty singers.

Elon staff or faculty members of all gender identities and ethnicities are most welcome to come sing in the Elon choral ensembles. If you have a spouse, partner, dependent who is taking advantage of taking classes at Elon, they are also eligible to sing in any of our choirs.

Elon Choral Activities is a welcoming and affirming place for any member of the Elon community.

The Elon Camerata is an auditioned chorus that meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 12:30 p.m. to 1:40 p.m. in CFA164. We are in need of altos, and in high need of tenor and bass voices. Voice type is not a gender-specific issue. Voice type is about tessitura and range. For the fall, our dress rehearsal is Monday night Nov. 28, with our concert on Tuesday night, Nov. 29. If interested, please send an email to Stephen Futrell at sfutrell@elon.edu.

The Elon Chorale meets Monday and Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 3:40 p.m. in CFA164. For the fall, our dress rehearsal is Wednesday night Nov. 9, with our concert on Thursday night, Nov. 10. If you are interested in singing in the Chorale, please contact Gerald Knight at gknight2@elon.edu.

We’ve had staff and faculty members, and family members, singing in our choirs for as long as we can remember. We realize there are some scheduling issues. We’ve always worked with staff and faculty to work through it, so if interested, do please contact us.
