Changes in the weather forecast will allow for the event for new Elon students to be held outdoors in this iconic university location.
University officials have been monitoring the weather forecasts for several days and have determined that New Student Convocation can be held Under the Oaks at 9 a.m. this morning as previously scheduled.
The university had been prepared to implement its rain plan to shift New Student Convocation indoors along with other events planned for today, but such plans will not be necessary.
Students should gather in Alumni Gym at 8 a.m. Family members should be in their seats Under the Oaks by 8:30 a.m.
Following New Student Convocation, students will head to Young Commons to meet their orientation leaders. Family members of first-year students will head to their student’s meeting room to meet with academic advisors and Elon 1010 peer educators. Family members of transfer students will head to LaRose Digital Theatre in Koury Business Center for Transfer Orientation.
