Alternative Spring Break applications now open

The Kernodle Center for Civic Life is looking for student leaders interested in making a positive impact in the community.

The Kernodle Center for Civic Life is excited to announce that Alternative Spring Break applications are now open. Alternative Breaks are immersive service experiences designed to introduce students to new communities while working to address pressing domestic and global social issues. Participating in an Alternative Break is a great way to get to know other students, make a positive impact and have a meaningful fall or spring break!

Next March, The Kernodle Center will have two experiences:

Housing & Homelessness in Washington, D.C. (March 12 – March 18, 2023)

We will partner with multiple agencies such as Bread for the City and Martha’s Table to explore the issues of housing and homelessness in the nation’s capital.  Cost is $300 per participant.

Hurricane Relief in Puerto Rico (March 11 – March 18, 2023)

We will partner with Community Collaborations International to work on supporting families and communities that were impacted by Hurricane Fiona.  Cost is $1,200 per participant.

Apply now!

Scholarships are available for Alternative Spring Breaks. Please apply by the priority deadline of Friday, Nov. 4 at 11:59pm to receive full consideration for scholarships. If you apply by Oct. 31, you will be entered in a raffle for 50% off the experience.
