The new mobile and online app provides detailed information about bus stop times to Elon Express riders.
A new live tracking app is making the Elon Express bus service even more convenient to riders.
The university has partnered with Passio GO! to provide live updates on where Elon Express buses are on their routes and when riders can expect the bus to arrive at their stop. The app tracks buses on the Danieley Center, Haggard Avenue and University Drive routes.
The Passio GO! service relies on updated tracking equipment on the buses to provide consistent and accurate locations. Riders can track buses either online or through a mobile app available for Apple and Android devices. The app provides an estimated time of arrival at each stop.
“It’s really easy to use,” said Raymond Fletcher, assistant director of facilities management. “When you select a stop, it will let you know what bus is coming and when it will be there. We didn’t use to have that capability.”
The Express provides free transportation to all Elon students, faculty, staff and community members. The buses use a biodiesel fuel that is a blend of vegetable or animal oils and ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel.
The Elon Express has three routes:
- The Haggard Avenue Route services Haggard Avenue with stops every 15 minutes at various apartment complexes, and university facilities.
- The Danieley Center Tram services different stops within the Danieley Neighborhood with stops every 10 minutes.
- The University Drive Line provides access to shopping centers and restaurants at University Commons and Alamance Crossing.
