Members of the men's and women's golf teams, the women's lacrosse team and the women's track and field and cross-country teams are traveling abroad this Thanksgiving break as a part of Elon's commitment to ensuring a global experience for its student-athletes.
Several Elon athletic teams are traveling abroad this Thanksgiving holiday as a part of the university’s commitment to ensuring student-athletes get the most out of their Elon education, and global experiences are a significant part of that education.
The women’s lacrosse team and women’s track and field and cross-country team are traveling to Greece during this Thanksgiving break. The women’s lacrosse team are hosting a series of clinics for the American Community School in Athens and Athens College. “We had a blast teaching and sharing our love of lacrosse with the community,” a post from the Elon women’s lacrosse team said. Updates on the team’s abroad experience can be followed on the team’s Instagram page at @elowlax and with a digital diary found on the Elon Athletics page.
Also exploring the history and beauty of Greece is the women’s track and field and cross country team. The much-anticipated trip was the first time the team had been abroad since 2020.
They visited the Panathenaic Stadium, the location of the first modern Olympic Games and the only stadium in the world made entirely of marble. The women’s track and field and cross-country Greek journey will be updated with a digital diary on the Elon Athletics website and their Instagram at @elonxctf.
The men’s and women’s golf teams will visit Scotland, “the home of golf,” during the Thanksgiving break and their experiences can be found on Instagram at @elonwgolf and @elonmgolf, as well as a digital diary on the Elon Athletics site.
