Executive leadership from a popular Elon University student organization took part in May in a festival that brings together some of the brightest minds from various industries to discuss emerging trends and ideas that promise to shape the future.
Elon University senior Cassidy Perkins ’23, the outgoing president of Women in Sales, joined with incoming vice presidents Kaidyn Carroll ’26, Mia Robinson ’26, and Kate Cooper ’26 to attend The Future of Everything Festival hosted by The Wall Street Journal from May 2-4, 2023.
The group spent three days in New York City attending CEO talks, networking, and exploring innovative products such as Sensiks sensory reality pods and NFT galleries in ‘The Lab’.
The group heard from Sehr Thadhani, the chief digital officer at Nasdaq, discussing how fewer than 30 women have led initial public offerings in the United States – and how efforts are under way to boost that number.
Ford CEO Jim Farley described the future of cars, while Billy Nolen, acting chief of Federal Aviation Administration, explored the likelihood of flying taxis by 2025. Former First Lady Michelle Obama announced her new beverage line and spoke on the importance of healthy food options available to all.
