Durr recently completed the Executive Education for Sustainability Leadership Program through the Department of Environmental Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
Elaine Durr, senior director of sustainability, was selected for the program through a competitive application process to be a part of the Executive Education for Sustainability Leadership Program through the Department of Environmental Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
Over the course of the 15-week program, she participated in live discussion sessions, group activities and skills application practice, as well as engaged in recorded content on topics, such as flow leadership, biomimicry and sustainable business strategies. In addition, the program included diverse sustainability leadership case stories that brought the content and concepts to life. The interactive sessions on holistic decision-making, indigenous cultural knowledge and creating an inner culture of flow provided opportunities for professional and personal reflection. Peer networking and collaborative coaching were also integral to the program.
“I am grateful for the knowledge and professional growth this program provided. It was an enriching experience and enhanced my sustainability change management expertise,” Durr said. “I am already applying what I gained from the program and look forward to continuing to advance sustainability on Elon’s campus.”
The program included around 100 participants from around the globe representing a variety of sectors, including business, education, non-profit and public sector.
