The Aug. 3-5 sale through the Rockley Family Foundation will price pianos, violins, violas and cellos below market value with proceeds going toward supporting Elon students
Elon’s Department of Music will host a musical instrument sale from Thursday, Aug. 3, through Saturday, Aug. 5, to raise money for student scholarships and programs.
A variety of pianos — grands, baby grands, digital player grands, upright pianos, hybrid pianos and digital pianos — violins, violas and cellos will be sold at discounted prices. Most of the instruments are less than a year old, include factory warranties and are ready to be played. The sale will feature starter to professional-level instruments from companies like Yamaha, Steinway & Sons, Seiler, Roland and Stravari Fine Violins, among others. Delivery and no-interest financing will be available.
The event results from a partnership between the department and the Rockley Family Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports music education. The foundation is supplying the instruments for sale.
The sale is private and by appointment. Those interested should call 336-520-8852 to schedule an appointment. It will be in the Center for the Arts at 417 N. Williamson Ave. Parking is available in the Oaks Lot. Virtual appointments can be made through the Rockley Family Foundation.
Proceeds will go towards scholarships, updating the Piano Pedagogy Program’s library and other music equipment, and outreach initiatives.
