Elon University has added eight new free electric vehicle charging spaces in Oaks, Colonnades and Historic Neighborhoods.
Electric vehicle drivers will now find more options on campus with the addition of four new charging stations, each with two charging ports. With demand continuing to grow on campus and throughout the country, these stations provide much-needed charging options for Elon community members with electric vehicles and encourage the adoption of sustainable transportation options throughout the campus community.
These charging stations were made possible through a partnership with the State of North Carolina and with partial grant funding through the NCDEQ Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program.
The new EV charging stations are strategically placed across different neighborhoods on campus, ensuring convenient access for members of the Elon community. The below list includes all EV charging station locations on campus: (*indicates new station):
- NEW – Faculty and Staff Parking – Oaks Neighborhood – 2 charging spaces
- NEW – Student Parking – Colonnades Neighborhood – 4 charging spaces
- NEW – Student Parking – Historic Neighborhood East – 2 charging spaces
- Fac/Staff and Student – McMichael Science Center Lot – 7 charging spaces
Additionally, Elon has one Tesla connector/charging station located in the Inman Admissions Welcome Center parking lot available to university visitors.
