Get set for success at the Elon STEM Meet and Greet

Students can take advantage of a game-changing opportunity to meet employers on the hunt for Elon’s STEM majors.

Hosted by the Student Professional Development Center (SPDC), the STEM Meet and Greet is not just an event – it’s where students can shape their futures by diving into the world of science, tech, engineering and math.

On Tuesday, Sept. 19, from 3 to 5 p.m., Founders Hall on the Innovation Quad will be filled with representatives and students who can discover what it’s like behind the scenes of companies, forge connections that could fuel their futures and learn what recruiters are looking for in potential candidates.

This event grants access to an impressive lineup of companies and organizations. Among them are Alarm.com, Joint Warfare Analysis Center, Labcorp, McKinney, Merck & Co., Novant Health, SAS, SportsMEDIA Technology, Toasty Kettlyst, Tryon Solutions, Volvo Group and Wolfspeed. Students can find a complete list of employers, internships and full-time job opportunities on the Elon Job Network (EJN).

Laurie Judge, senior associate director of career services and passionate advocate for STEM majors, said, “Networking is an important part of the job search process. Attending a STEM meet and greet event is a great way to meet other students and professionals in the STEM fields. Students can learn from their experiences and build relationships that could help them land their dream jobs.”

This STEM Meet and Greet will be a gateway to a world of opportunities and possibilities for students. It’s a chance to gain insight, make connections, and be inspired by the incredible potential that STEM careers offer. By attending this event, students can take their first step towards a future where they contribute to advancing technology, science, and innovation, making a lasting impact on the world.

Students can prepare for the STEM Meet and Greet by researching the companies attending, preparing questions, dressing professionally, and bringing copies of their resumes to share with recruiters. Students can stop by the Student Professional Development Center (SPDC) in Moseley 140 to get their resume printed on high-quality resume paper, pick up an Elon folder, and thank you cards for free. The SPDC is open weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
