Vice President for Student Life Jon Dooley shared information on Monday, Oct. 9, about operations and safety on campus during Fall Break, which runs from the conclusion of evening classes on Wednesday, Oct. 11, through Sunday, Oct. 15.
Fall Break for undergraduate students and some graduate programs begins Wednesday, October 11, following evening classes and ends at 8 a.m. on Monday, October 16.
Note that residence halls do not officially “close” during Fall Break, although University offices are closed on Friday, October 13 to give faculty and staff a holiday.
As a reminder, there are several 24/7 services available throughout this time.
- Campus Safety & Police can be reached at 336-278-5555. They can also assist with connections to the Student Life on-call administrators.
- On-call crisis counselors are available at 336-278-2222.
- SAFEline is available at 336-278-3333 for confidential support with identity-based bias, sexual violence, or interpersonal violence – they can also be a confidential resource to access on-call violence responders.
- TimelyCare free virtual medical and mental health service is available 24/7 throughout the break from anywhere in the United States.
Below are hours of student services that continue operations throughout the break.
Barnes & Noble at Elon University
- The Barnes & Noble Store will be open during fall break: October 12-15.

Belk Library
- The Belk Library will close at 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, but will be open throughout the Fall Break: Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Regular hours resume Sunday at 10 a.m.

Campus Recreation and Wellness
- Recreation and Wellness will have modified hours during Fall Break. The outdoor fitness court will also be available throughout Fall Break.

Counseling Services
- Counseling Services is open for scheduled appointments during regular hours Thursday, October 12, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and is closed Friday, October 13.
- TimelyCare virtual mental health services remain available 24/7 throughout the break.
- The crisis counselor on-call also remains available 24/7 by calling 336-278-2222.
- If a student is experiencing a psychological emergency that is life-threatening or involves imminent danger (risk of harm to self or others at any time), call 9-1-1 for immediate assistance.
Elon Dining
- All dining locations will have modified hours for the Fall Break, with Lakeside serving as the primary dining hall open.

Mail Services
- Mail Services will be closed October 13-15.
- Please note that shipping partners will hold your items during this time, and Mail Services will process everything as soon as possible when they reopen.

Moseley Center
- The Moseley Center will be open throughout the Fall Break. The hours of operations during this time are below:
- Wednesday, October 11, 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Thursday, October 12, 7 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Friday, October 13, 8 a.m. -5 p.m.
- Saturday, October 14, 9 am.- 1 p.m.
- Sunday, October 15, 11 a.m. -Midnight
- Monday, October 16, Regular Hours

Residence Life
- Residence Halls do not close during Fall Break.
- Neighborhood offices remain open regular weekday business hours, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., during the break except Friday, October 13 when University offices are closed.
Student Health Services
- Student Health Services will be open for appointments throughout the Fall Break:
- Thursday, October 12, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
- Friday, October 13, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
