Department of Performing arts to present ‘A Chorus Line’ Feb. 8-10

The acclaimed musical will be performed in McCrary Theatre in the Center for the Arts and is directed by Jane Lanier.

Elon University’s Department of Performing Arts will present its production of the award-winning musical “A Chorus Line” on Feb. 8-10.

Conceived and originally directed and choreographed by Michael Bennett, “A Chorus Line” evokes both the glamour and grind of show business. Casting for a new Broadway musical is almost complete, and for 17 dancers, this audition is the chance of a lifetime and what they’ve worked for their whole lives. This musical is for everyone who’s ever had a dream and put it all on the line. The iconic score features such classics as “What I Did for Love,” “One,” “I Hope I Get It” and more.

Elon’s production is directed by Jane Lanier with choreography by Courtney Liu, music direction by Chris Rayis and scenic coordination and projection design by Natalie Taylor Hart. Costume coordination is by Kayla Higbee, lighting design is by Gregory Thorn and sound design is by Mike Smith. Production Management is by Charles Johnson, technical direction is by Luis Silva, costume construction by Heidi Jo Schiemer and props coordination is by Chris Fields.

Showtimes in McCrary Theatre in the Center for the Arts are:

  • Thursday, Feb. 8, 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Feb. 9, 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Feb. 10, 2 and 7:30 p.m.

Admission is free for students, staff and faculty with a Phoenix card and is $15 for the general public. Tickets are available at the Center for the Arts Box Office or www.elon.edu/boxoffice.
