Elon student catalysts lead design thinking workshops at Stetson University to help students, faculty, and staff brainstorm innovative approaches to their Greek Life living and learning communities.
Student Catalysts Adam Kanowitz ‘25 and Maddie Gibson ‘26 represented Elon University’s Center for Design Thinking at Stetson University to facilitate a workshop for students, faculty, and staff. They were joined by the Center Director Danielle Lake.
The session attracted a group of stakeholders affiliated with university Greek Life, ranging from students, faculty, and staff. Active contributors explored how they can leverage Greek Life values, organizational positions, leadership skills, and resources into the design of housing staffing, support structures, and processes that best meet students’ needs and goals.
Throughout the first half of the session, participants explored their different lived experiences and shared insights with one another. They then brainstormed innovative approaches that they want to see implemented to enhance their experience.
Faculty, staff, and students dreamed big, learned from each other, shared laughs, and imagined their next steps. A report of findings and recommendations was compiled to share with university stakeholders this summer.
The Center for Design Thinking continues its consulting efforts this spring with on and off-campus partnerships framed by the Design Thinking Process to promote wellness, foster inclusive strategies, and promote supportive networks.
