Twenty-five fellows received their medallions to wear at graduation and were celebrated by faculty, staff, family and friends.
In a ceremony hosted on May 23, 2024, in the LaRose Digital Theatre, the cohort of Business Fellows in the Class of 2024 received their medallions as a symbol of their accomplishments.
The cohort traveled together, studied together, and engaged with each other in their academic pursuits, culminating in a series of projects over the last four years.
“The relationships you’ve built and the lessons you’ve learned are not just memories to look back on, but foundations to build upon,” said Tina Das, Lincoln Financial Professor and professor of economics, as she opened the ceremony.
Das mentioned special acorns carved out of an Elon oak tree by a retired professor, given to the fellows as a keepsake. “The fellows will be receiving a carved acorn as a special something to remember us by as they venture into the world,” Das added.
Lily Cooper, from Chalfont, Penn., and Karsen Williams, from Edwards, Co., highlighted the group’s journey from first-year students to confident graduates. They shared collective memories of their cohort with family, faculty, and friends in attendance.
Nicholas Morello, from Yorktown Heights, N.Y., and Owen Clendenin, from Millwood, N.Y., shared their experience managing a portion of the yearlong endowment. The duo presented that the fellows outpaced the market and credited Professor Raj Gupta as a mentor for their successful year.
Sofia Vietri, from Avondale, Penn., and Rachael Davis, from Apex, N.C., spoke about the capstone consulting project working with Worldee. The cohort presented their market analysis and strategy recommendations to the owner, chief marketing officer, chief of sales, and chief of operations in Prague.
Dean Raghu Tadepalli presented the medallions to the fellows, with Alexandra Cope, from Atlanta, Ga., and Charlotte Fox, from Raleigh, N.C., sharing personal remarks about each fellow.
Lastly, Milica Radan, from Allendale, N.J., and Bennett Curtis, from Arlington, Va., delivered the closing remarks and charge to the cohort.
Radan reflected on the special bond shared by the cohort, describing it as a built-in group of best friends. She shared personal anecdotes about her friendships and experiences with fellow members.
Curtis highlighted the importance of reflecting on past experiences, leveraging relationships, and looking forward to shaping the future.
“Do not wait for success to find you—seek it out with relentless passion and resilience,” said Curtis. “Take risks, make bold decisions, and push beyond your comfort zones. The world is full of opportunities, and it’s up to you to seize them.”
The ceremony was hosted by Das and coordinated by Kacey Gwynn, program assistant.
