The application deadline for the grant has been extended until Monday, Oct. 28.
The Office of Inclusive Excellence Education and Development’s I-Excel Mini-Grant is designed to support faculty and staff members at Elon University in enhancing their self-awareness and critical consciousness in matters of diversity, equity and inclusion. This mini-grant aims to empower individuals to actively engage in inclusive excellence education and development activities addressing their personal journey to foster a more inclusive campus environment.
Small grants up to $500 are awarded to employees to participate in experiences or obtain resources to advance inclusive excellence education and development. For example, the grant could be used to support participating in webinars, registration fees for programming and more.
The mini-grant supports faculty and staff engagement in learning activities that will increase their knowledge and understanding of concepts related to anti-bias, identities and other Inclusive Excellence constructs. It also supports learning activities that enhance skills to recognize complex systems of inequity at Elon and in society. The mini-grant also seeks to support engagement in professional development activities that will enhance the experiences and sense of belonging of historically and presently marginalized identities at Elon.
The Office of Inclusive Excellence Education and Development will award up to five mini-grants each semester. For any assistance regarding the I-Excel mini-grant application process, please contact Carla Fullwood.
