The Kernodle Center for Civic Life is accepting applications for students, staff and faculty who are interested in serving in Western North Carolina during spring break
Over spring break (March 17-21), the Kernodle Center for Civic Life is organizing an opportunity open to students, staff and faculty to offer support to our neighbors in Western North Carolina who are still recovering from the devastation from Hurricane Helene. We are partnering with Community Collaborations, an international disaster relief organization, who the Kernodle Center for Civic Life has worked with prior for disaster relief projects in Texas and Puerto Rico. We anticipate leaving first thing in the morning on Monday, March 17 and returning in the evening on Friday, March 31.
If you are interested in participating, please fill out our brief application on Phoenix Connect by clicking here. The application is due by Friday, February 7th. We hope to notify selected participants by Friday, February 14th.
Note: We are not sure of what the interest level will be, so if we receive a lot of interest, we may need to do a randomized selection to determine who attends based off our partner needs and our capacity of how many volunteers we can take to join.
If you have questions about this experience, contact Kyle Anderson in the Kernodle Center for Civic Life via email at kanderson52@elon.edu.
This opportunity is a collaboration between the Kernodle Center for Civic Life and the Elon Student Government Association.
