Producer, director and writer Michael Tessler shares strategies for career success at Elon University Los Angeles

Tessler's Multihouse Productions has been a popular internship site for several Elon Los Angeles students.

Award-winning writer, producer, director and entertainment industry entrepreneur Michael Tessler spent an evening with Elon University Los Angeles students in March to explore options and opportunities for the launch of their post-graduation professional careers.

Tessler, who is CEO and Founder of LA-based Multihouse Productions, offered students advice and guidance on navigating the new creative landscape.

“So much has changed in the industry,” he said, “But from the very first film made in Hollywood, to every set today, there is a connective thread of mentorship.”

Tessler knows first hand the importance and the impact of finding a mentor in the industry in which you want to make your professional career; he had one of his own at the start of his career and has since served as a mentor himself to many students. His Multihouse Productions has been a popular internship site for several Elon Los Angeles students in recent years and, this semester, Elon LA students volunteered at Tessler’s recent MultiCon fundraising event, which generated funds for families impacted by the recent Los Angeles wildfires.

Joining Elon University Los Angeles students for this professional development event, held at Elon LA’s home base at The Preserve, were a group of students from five other Los Angeles study away programs, who all came away with a new industry connection and ideas for mapping out their professional journeys.
