Hear from three members of the executive board of the university’s oldest all-female a cappella group about the inclusive space for all women interested in singing a capella.
Members of the executive board of Sweet Signatures share details about their organization in the latest episode of “Feature Phoenix,” a video series that creates a welcoming space for any young women passionate about a cappella singing.
Episode 17 of “Feature Phoenix” introduces:
- Charlotte Owens ’27, an international and global studies major from Dallas, Texas, who serves as the business manager of Sweet Signatures
- Greer Udelson ’27, a biology major from Delray Beach, Florida, who serves as the treasurer of Sweet Signatures
- Lani Watson ’25, a nursing major from Tampa, Florida, who serves as the president of Sweet Signatures
Founded in 2001, Sweet Signatures provides a space for women who share a passion for singing. Elon’s oldest all-female a cappella group competes in national competitions, hosts an annual a cappella festival with other university groups, records albums and more.
The group will be celebrating its 25th year in 2026 with a special concert featuring alumni.
Owens and Udelson said their organization strives to welcome all who are interested in Sweet Signatures as well as making sure the group is a safe space and Watson echoes those sentiments.
“There are so many areas of this group that you can find your own belonging in,” Watson said.
The Sweet Signatures website offers information about the organization’s history, events, albums and music videos.
Contact information, officers, and the organization’s constitution can all be found on Phoenix Connect. Sweet Signatures also posts about events and more on the group’s Instagram account.
Feature Phoenix is a bimonthly video feature of clubs and organizations of different sizes that brings together Elon University students around a range of topics. Find the newest video on the Inclusive Excellence website and visit the Elon University YouTube page for past episodes.
