Since 2008, Elon students have had the opportunity to participate for a semester in Elon University’s fully immersive Los Angeles experience.
Summer is in full bloom at Elon University Los Angeles with the start of the summer 2025 LA semester experience last week for an enthusiastic cohort of students.

Academic classes, experiential learning, community service, professional development and alumni engagement are key components of this summer’s experience, which also includes a slate of exciting Elon Los Angeles-curated “Discover LA” excursions.
A community orientation was held at the Elon Los Angeles home base at The Preserve, in Hollywood, featuring an information session for students about the semester ahead, followed by a visit to the Getty Center art museum, the LA landmark The Grove and the historic Farmers Market at Third and Fairfax.
Two new academic courses are launching this summer, Crisis PR: The Fame Edition, taught by Elon University Los Angeles director and award-winning celebrity PR consultant Brad Lemack, and The Business of Content Creation, taught by film producer and entertainment law professional Shun Lee Fong.
Returning instructors and courses this summer include “The Writer’s Room,” taught by writer/director Matthew Antonelli, “Directing,” taught by writer/director Boris Schaarschmidt, and “History of LA Music,” taught by Elon alum and music industry professional Sean Renner.

Elon University Los Angeles program assistant and Elon alumna Macy Mills has assembled a line up of diverse “Discover LA” experiences for students this summer, including a hike in the Hollywood Hills in the shadow of the iconic Hollywood sign, a Warner Bros. Studios tour, a bike ride through summer sun-soaked Santa Monica, a performance at LA’s mainstay improvision theatre company The Groundlings, a visit to the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and a day at Dodger Stadium to watch baseball sports hero Shohei Ohtani in action.
The summer semester will also feature two opportunities for community service with Elon University Los Angeles’s nonprofit partner Hollywood Food Coalition and an evening of career advice and wisdom for students with a panel of LA-based Elon alumni.
