Darfour-Oduro presents at the American Public Health Association annual meeting

Sandra A. Darfour-Oduro, assistant professor of public health studies attended the American Public Health Association (APHA) 2024 Annual Meeting and Expo held in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Oct. 27-30.

Sandra A. Darfour-Oduro, assistant professor of public health studies, presented an abstract titled “Cardiovascular risk factors amongst clients of the wellness clinic at greater accra regional hospital,” during the APHA 2024 Annual Meeting and Expo.

She co-authored the abstract with collaborators at the University of Ghana, School of Public Health. Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) significantly contribute to the burden of non-communicable diseases (NCD) in low- and middle-income countries. The study assessed cardiovascular risk factors among individuals attending a wellness clinic at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (GARH) in Ghana.
