ELON COLLEGE – John McCutcheon, who has been called “Virginia’s rustic renaissance man,” will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7 in McCrary Theatre in the Faith Rockefeller Model Center for the Arts.
Tickets are $10 or free with Elon College identification. Tickets can be reserved by calling the Elon College Box Office at 336-584-2199, Monday-Friday, 12:30-5 p.m.
Raised in Wisconsin, McCutcheon hitchhiked the Appalachians armed with a backpack and a banjo and discovered a new home, both musically and geographically. His mastery of American folk music and instruments is complemented by rich storytelling. His albums have several Grammy nominations and two “Children’s Album of the Year” awards.
