Jon Metzger, assistant professor of music, will be joined by several musicians for a concert celebrate the release of Metzger’s latest CD at 8:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 28 in McCrary Theatre, located in the Faith Model Center for the Arts on the Elon campus. The concert is free, and copies of the new CD, titled “Times Fly,” will be on sale for $15.
A professional vibraphonist, Metzger will be joined by Gregg Gelb, clarinet; John Hanks, drums; and Don Gladstone, bass; in a concert featuring music from “Times Fly.” The CD features the music of Benny Goodman’s small group from the 1930s and 1940s.
The CD is being marketed by students enrolled in the Entrepreneurship Program at Elon’s Love School of Business. The program allows students to gain practical, hands-on experience in the music business by designing, planning and executing a marketing plan for CDs.
