ELON COLLEGE – Tom Arcaro of Burlington recently was named the new director of the Asian/Pacific Studies program at Elon College.
Arcaro, a professor of sociology at the college since 1995, has extensive travel and study experiences in the Eastern Hemisphere. He has had a Fulbright fellowship to India and has taught at Southeast University in Nanjing, China.
The program was developed in 1996 after the college received a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
