Denise Hartsfield, assistant county attorney with the Forsyth County Department of Social Services, will be the Martin Luther King, Jr. commemorative speaker at noon, Thursday, Jan. 17 in Whitley Auditorium on the Elon campus. Hartfield’s address, sponsored by Elon’s Office of Minority Affairs, is free and open to the public.
Hartsfield earned a bachelor’s degree from Spelman College in Atlanta and a law degree from Wake Forest University. She prosecutes child support cases for Forsyth County, establishing and monitoring court-ordered child support payment arrangements. In 1998, Hartsfield received the North Carolina Child Support Award from the North Carolina Child Support Council for her leadership and contributions in the area of child support.
